WHY EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus?
Why did we choose the DELTA 3 Plus battery station from EcoFlow for our BASECAB superstructure instead of a conventional battery system? CABMANIAC is based on simplicity, modularity, and freedom—in how you can use the superstructure and what you can take with you.
When you say "motorhome power supply," most people imagine a classic setup – a LiFePO₄ battery, solar regulator, DC-DC charger, converter, fuses, monitors, connectors, and miles of cables. It works. But in our world, it's not enough. That's why we chose EcoFlow and their new DELTA 3 Plus with a capacity of 1000Wh and the option to expand it with a snap of the fingers by another 1000Wh in the form of an additional DELTA 3 battery. This setup fits perfectly into the space of the center cabinet in our BASECAB pickup camper.

Simplicity, great interface, and portability
Simplicity that makes sense
DELTA 3 Plusis basically an "all-in-one" device – battery, converter, charger, and energy monitor. There is no need to worry about what to connect to what, no wiring, no setup, and no calibration. Just turn it on – and it works!
It fits our style perfectly—no complications, no delays, no compromises....
An intelligent interface that even laymen can understand
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus battery station not only has a clear display, but also a sophisticated mobile app that shows energy flows, current consumption, battery status, and time to discharge or full charge. And importantly, it works without the need for any settings.
We had to overcome two obstacles...
CHARGING WHILE DRIVING
EcoFlow offers its own device for charging from a car, but it uses the same port as the additional battery. So if we want to offer customers the option of expanding capacity and charging while driving, we encounter a limitation – both cannot be done at the same time.
We found a solution
We use a new product from Victron - XS 1400, a device that sends energy from the alternator directly to EcoFlow via the solar input, specifically a beautiful 500W. XS 1400 can handle up to 34 V / 50 A, which corresponds to the capabilities of EcoFlow (max. 50 V / 15 A). The result is powerful charging while driving and free ports for charging from solar power and for an additional battery.
Everything works automatically, without switching, and reliably even when traveling.

We turned a disadvantage into an advantage
We use 230V because the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus is very powerful in this regard. We found, for example, that:
• The Dometic CDX3 refrigerator is even more economical at 230V than at 12V (by approx. 5W).
• The boiler with a 660W coil heats up very quickly at 230V – no need to wait, just turn it on, heat it up, and turn it off.
• One 230V socket remains free – so you can plug in your laptop, hair dryer, tools, or whatever else you need without restriction.
For 12V devices (e.g., independent heating, ceiling fan), we use switched power supplies from 230V to 12V. Yes, there is some loss during voltage conversion, but because EcoFlow runs on a 48V basis, these conversions are significantly less lossy, and the converters inside the unit are highly efficient. This is a key advantage over 12V or 24V-based systems – in practice, this translates into better overall efficiency, lower heat loss, and smaller installation spaces.
The ideal solution? No. But it's cleverly designed.
Sure, it would be great if EcoFlow had a 12V output with at least 30A of power. Maybe we'll see that in the future – but in the meantime, we've found a functional and elegant solution.
Thanks to a combination of solar charging, an alternator, and an additional battery, the system can last 2–4 days without movement, depending on consumption and weather conditions. And if it is shining or moving, there is still enough energy.
The advantages that made us choose EcoFlow:
✅ Portability – take the station with you on a picnic, to work, or home during a power outage
✅ Backup power – we also use EcoFlow in our workshop as a backup for 3D printers and other sensitive equipment
✅ Additional battery – expandable capacity for longer runtime without the need to modify the system
✅ Elegant design and compact construction – it looks great and doesn't take up unnecessary space
✅ Secure mounting in the superstructure – DELTA 3 Plus has its own brackets that keep it in place even ian harsh conditions and off-road
✅ Everything on connectors – the entire system is connected using quick connectors – so you can disconnect everything in a minute and take it with you
✅ Czech service partner – in the event of a malfunction, service is available in the Czech Republic, which knows how to deal with the devices
✅ Automatic protection – protection against overheating, overvoltage, overcharging, and undercharging is a matter of course
✅ Long-standing good reputation – EcoFlow has years of reliable operation behind it and is known for its quality and durability
Our system is not a compromise – it is a well-thought-out solution. EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus DELTA 3 allows us to maintain the BASECAB philosophy – simplicity, modularity, reliability, and repairability. And it adds something extra: freedom. Freedom in how you use energy – not just in the superstructure, but anywhere.
